
Larry Green has been involved in Scouting since the late 1950’s as a Cub Scout, through the 1960’s as a member of a Scout troop, and throughout his adult life in various capacities as a volunteer. He spends his retirement with his wife in North Myrtle Beach, SC, and still volunteers on a unit, council, and national level.
Green is currently the outdoor skills subject matter expert for the National Camping and Trekking Committee, a content developer for Scouting U, and a faith representative for the National Religious Relationship Committee. A Silver Buffalo recipient, he has written content for a wide variety of official Scouting America online resources, the syllabus for the National Camping School’s Outdoor Skills Section, the Camping and Pioneering Program Features, and is the author of the current edition of the Pioneering Merit Badge Pamphlet. His first book, Scout Pioneering – Good Ol’ Fashioned Outdoor Fun serves as a resource for interested Scouters, worldwide.
As a faculty member of the Philmont Training Center, Green wrote the syllabus for the popular conference, “Making Scouting Unforgettably Fun!” which is also the title of his latest book, Making Scouting Unforgettably FUN!
